How to use the Skeleton EDC Lock Pick Multitool

The Dangerfield designed TOK Skeleton tension wrench is unique in that it can be removed and re-inserted for especially convenient use with just a slight loosening of the main screw. No annoying poking or prodding needed - unlike other lesser lock picking, standard swivel tools.

You can customize the entire selection of picks to your needs as well. Swap them out, put more in, shuffle them around however you want! The quick-release system allows you to insert all the tools, or only a few. Whatever you prefer!

You'll also notice there's a keyhole on the end of your SKELETON through which you thread the keyring.

Notes on use:

Even though this is a versatile and sturdy device, all lock picks can be bent if you apply too much strength. The picks are made from industrial 301 Stainless Steel with an extreme hardness and high yield strength rating - but they are still 0.6mm (a standard thickness for accessing many locks).

If you mishandle the Skeleton and the picks bend - you know you are using too much strength when picking. Careful, precise and well considered motions are required to pick any lock. These are fine, specialist tools like the rest of the Dangerfield range - if you are having issues, please try picking practice locks first!

If you have any questions or problems - just ask us! We want you to get the most from your new Skeleton Key Lock Picks. Why not pair it with one of our Brushed Aluminium Practice Locks?

- Chris Dangerfield

Easy to Follow Instructions and Guides

Want an even LARGER SELECTION of picks?

Customisable and fool-proof. You can loosen the main grooved tightening-screw completely, and the picks can be carefully removed. Insert new ones, or your favorites in the order you prefer. Just look at how portable and easy it all is.

Lock Picking FAQs

1. Are lock pick sets legal to buy in the UK?

Yes - lock pick sets are completely legal to buy, own and use in the UK. There's no law against possessing lock picking tools. Buying a lock pick set for locksmithing, security work, education or hobby use is perfectly lawful. We've been selling lock pick sets from our UK warehouse for over 15 years, and thousands of customers - from locksmiths to hobbyists - buy from us every month.

2. What is the best lock pick set for beginners?

The best beginner lock pick set includes quality picks, tension tools, at least one practice lock, and clear instructions. Our Lokko and Dangerfield beginner bundles are specifically designed for this - they contain everything you need in one box, with no guesswork about what to buy. We'd particularly recommend sets that include a clear practice lock, as being able to see the pins while you learn dramatically speeds up the process.

3. How long does it take to learn to pick locks with a beginner set?

Most people open their first lock within an hour of starting - often much sooner with a clear practice lock and our included guide. You'll develop basic competence with common pin tumbler locks within a few weeks of casual practice. Our beginner lock pick sets are designed to accelerate this process, with practice locks that have slightly more forgiving tolerances and step-by-step instructions that teach proper technique from day one.

4. Can beginner lock pick sets open real locks?

Absolutely. The picks in our beginner sets are professional-grade tools made from hardened stainless steel - the same quality used by working locksmiths. "Beginner" refers to the included practice locks and instructions, not the tool quality. Once you've learned the fundamentals, your beginner lock pick set will open real-world locks just as effectively as any professional kit. Many customers continue using their first set for years.
