If you're here, you've been there - the customer has lost or snapped the key in the bonnet lock (pre-facelift model). The battery has run down and you need to jump start the engine, or the passenger door is deadlocked and you can't access the bonnet pull lever (facelift model)

Either way—and for a plethora of other reasons—getting the bonnet open is a nightmare. You might even need to jack the van off the ground or do the laborious and time-consuming job of removing the grill, the under tray, etc. I've even seen people use crowbars on YouTube to get it done.

Sometimes, even if you have the key, the amount of dust, grit and Lord knows what has seized up the bonnet release mechanism. This is a well-known issue with these vans and can cause a whole lot of trouble. 

Even if the bonnet opening mechanism is broken, this tool will open the bonnet.

Being able to open the bonnet simply and quickly gives you a variety of options to gain access. It allows access to the battery to jump-start the vehicle, or engage the ignition relays, allowing you to use a wedge and long reach rod to open the windows.
